FOCUS/VIRUS Tour: Days 13, 14

Day 13
It was our last show of the Fall 2011 FOCUS/VIRUS tour! We played the Quite Queer in the Berkshires festival. It was on the top floor of the Crowne Plaza hotel. We stayed in the hotel. The night went swimmingly. Since no one was DD it ended like this. (See pic below)

We love u all and had a great tour!!!!

FOCUS/VIRUS Tour: Day 12

Day 12: Hartford, CT

Last night was our next to last show on this tour. It was thrown by our good friends Pat and Dustin of the Hartford Party Starters Union.

The show was at the local dive bar, Mad Dawgs and was a lot of fun. Upon arrival we saw a gigantic poster with our pic on it. Kinda cool to see ur self all blown up! (See pic below) We did some shots, sang some songs, danced to some tunes then threw some glitter.

We had a chance to do an encore song and really cut loose. Tonight we’re in Pittsfield for our last and final show of the tour, so it should be off the hook.

See u in the Berkshires tonight!

FOCUS/VIRUS Tour: Day 11

Day 11: Providence, RI

We had a fun time playing in Providence last night. Our good friends @ The Dark Lady on Snow St were very hospitable as usual and the crowd was super nice. And it was a military theme to honor our veterans. (See pic below)

Yeah there were some issues with the mics @ 1 point all three members of TB were sharing a mic. But that’s live music for you. Also Tessa and Ariel improvised with some tap dancing while we figured out the mic situation. So all those dance classes they took in childhood paid off.

There was also a hot body contest that we might’ve entered had we not been fat slobs from being on tour for the past 2 weeks! The winner got $200. And that could’ve def went for gas. But we opted out of it.

Tonight we rock Hartford, CT!

Tayisha

FOCUS/VIRUS Tour: Days 7/8/9/10

Day 7: DC pt 2

We recovered from our sold out show in DC w/brunch and thrift store shopping in the area. We stayed @ Ariel’s parent’s house for some much needed R&R.

Day 8: Philly
We traveled from DC to Philly today to play the awesome Tigerbeats Party @ the Barbary. The DJ’s and the crowd were the best. For a Monday night these kids knew how to get down! Thank you Philly. It was great seeing some old friends again and to play in front of such a responsive, positive crowd. (See the photobooth pic below of us before our set.)

Days 9 & 10: Philly to NJ

We had these 2 days off to chill out and relax in Jersey. The drive from Philly was smooth and uneventful. Which is usually a good sign. In Jersey we had to restock up on glitter for our stage show and of course hit up the thrift store/salon chairs. (See other pic below.) Rock and roll. Oh and we got some camo shirts for our show in Providence.

Tomorrow we head to Providence where the theme of the party is military!!! Gay military? F that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell crap…We’re doing a flash set @ the Dark Lady on Snow Street! Come see us Providence!

We love u all this tour has been a blast.

xx,

Tayisha

FOCUS/VIRUS Tour: Day 6

Day 6: Washington, DC

Wow! That’s all we can pretty much say about our sold out show in DC. The ladies @ Lez Get Together and Where the Girl Go put on an amazing event. They promoted the hell out of this show and their hard work obviously paid off.

It was a packed house that transformed a Caribbean style restaurant into a jam packed glitter dance party. During our set the bass was pumping so hard that one of us had a near death experience with a falling flat screen TV. However, this was rock and roll @ its finest and TB plowed on through. The crowd danced and sang along to our tunes. It was a great highlight of the tour thus far.

Thank you Washington DC. We love you so much!

See pics below for the crowd, TV and Brandon and Tessa @ the merch table.

Let’s do this again real soon! Next stop Philly! See you peeps @ the Barbary for the Tigerbeats party!

xxxxxooooo,

Tayisha

FOCUS/VIRUS Tour Days 4/5

Day 4: Durham, NC

This was our 1st time playing in North Carolina and it was a blast. We had the great opportunity to be a part of the last show for MEN’s 6 week tour. The crowd was great and the promoters were also very nice.

After our set many kids came up to us to plead for us to come back to NC ASAP. And we just might! Thank you Durham it was awesome.

Day 5: Richmond, VA

This was our 2nd time in Richmond and it was definitely different than out 1st show there over a year ago! The drive from Durham was rainy and grey but the skies soon cleared as we reached the Richmond city limits. This evening we played a venue called Balliceaux. Its a restaurant that turns into a hotspot around 11pm. However we first had to have dinner there. The staff was very generous and offered us an amazing dinner and a few curated cocktails that we loved! Fast forward to our set and we weren’t sure how the crowd was gonna react to our antics. But by the time we ripped into the 2nd song we had won them over.

After the show, Brandon had to trek down the street to retrieve the tour van and to his surprise the van was closed in between fire trucks, road cones and police tape! Turns out a house on the opposite corner to where we parked had caught on fire while we were inside the venue playing our little hears out.

No worries everything of ours was fine we just had to have the nice paramedics move their cones so we could drive the van quickly back to the venue for load out.

Today we’re headed to DC to play a big show @ the Islander. The show is sponsored by homoground and Where the Girls’ Are. So wish us luck! Update should hopefully be posted tomorrow!

Tayisha

Focus/Virus Tour: ATL!!! Day 3

Day 3: Atlanta

Atlanta you were amazing. You fed us well for brunch, gave us a chance to catch up with old friends and had awesome weather!

The show last night @ 529 was pretty cool indeed. The kids went crazy and even made a grind train. Which is pretty much a necessity for any show of ours from now on. Can u tell Brandon’s computer now has a weave? (Check out the pics @ the bottom of the posting for more info.)

Today we’re traveling across the Carolina’s for our show opening for MEN again @ the Pinhook in Durham, NC.

We’ve never played NC either so we’re really excited to get the crowd warmed up for JD, Michael and Lee.

xxxxooo,
TB

Day 2/3

So Day 2 on tour was basically spent in the van. We traveled for 14 hours from NJ to Atlanta! We’re proud of ourselves for making it all the way here in 1 piece!

Upon arrival @ our bestie Tara’s house we had a min 2 chat and then get ready for bed. Ariel and Tessa snuggled w/Bosley for the evening. (As seen in the picture.)

We’re getting ready for our big free show @ the 529 w/MEN! Hello Atlanta! Where u @? The weather is beautiful and we’re enjoying our day here before the show begins!

Doors are @ 9pm! See you there. Also we’re billed as Yayisha Busay on one of the flyers!!! Ha ha ha sooo there’s that.

Xoxo,

Yayisha Busay

FOCUS/VIRUS Fall Tour: Day 1

Day 1:
Stony Brook

We had an awesome show @ SUNY Stony Brook last night. It was part of the Halloween Rock Yo Face Showcase. We were joined on stage by Brooklyn Alums Planet Rump and Great Tiger. Their chicken tenders were the best dinner we’ve had in a week.

The crowd was all dressed in their Halloween Rave best and they danced hard to all three sets.

Pics can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.300579869955137.83453.100000093795534&type=3

Today we’re on our way to our 1st show ever in Atlanta! The drive is about 14 hours from NYC. Our GPS says we will arrive around 2am. Wish us safe travels as we fill our time napping, driving, eating @ local Cracker Barrels (stopped @ 1 already!), and talking mad shit.

Send us a mix tape and we’ll download it for the drive!!!
